1. Go crazy with self-care

We’ve all had those days when we are in over our heads with things to do and it seems like it will never end! Sometimes in order to keep your cool, you have to take a break and schedule in some self-care. Self-care is SO important for so many reasons  it will help reduce your stress, help you unwind, and give you a boost of positivity that you need to get through the week.

Even when you feel that there’s not enough time in the day to take a moment for yourself, you SHOULD! Take 10-15 minutes to do a facemask, moisturize, exfoliate, deep breathe, say your affirmations, give yourself a manicure, or make a vision board.

2. Light up the candles

This is such a simple idea, but it REALLY works! If you are struggling with high stress levels, light a candle (or multiple) and set it on your desk while you work or at any time and you will instantly feel more relaxed.

There is something about looking at a candle’s flame and smelling an amazing smell that will instantly better your mood and help you focus on the right things.

4. Let out your creative side

Another way you can destress during the workweek is to allow time to be creative. Whatever your thing is  whether it is doodling, painting, writing, singing, or playing an instrument  make sure to do it! Spending an hour during the week doing what you love will remind you to focus on what is most important and it can help you to relax!

Even if you aren’t an artist, writer, or musician, try something creative! You can be creative by simply printing out an adult coloring page and filling it in to destress.

5. Stay healthy

We all know that eating healthy foods and exercising is good for us, but it is also a HUGE stress reliever. If you are consistently taking time to move, even if that is just for a short walk daily, you will start to find that your stress during the workweek will decrease.

And if you want to reduce stress even further, focus on eating healthy foods and don’t skip meals. Intermittent fasting works for some people, but for others it can affect their mood and increase anxiety.

6. Make time for loved ones

This might seem like a no brainer, but sometimes when we become a ball of stress, we shut others around us out. But when you are stressing out about your work, it is important to keep the ones we love around us, because they can help take away some of your stresses or help you find ways to cope with the stress that you are experiencing.

So next time you are overloaded, make sure to pencil in some time for a dinner with your significant other or a quick call to your parents!
